Mr. Pletcher has conducted seminars, both locally and nationally, in the areas of disability and special education law for school districts, parent groups, universities and agencies who serve individuals with disabilities and their families. In 2004, he presented at the National Tourette’s Association Convention in Washington, D.C. and in 2005, he presented at the Northwest Institute on Special Education Law in Portland, Oregon. In 2006, he presented to the New York State Association of Pupil Services Administrators (NYSAPSA) in Saratoga Springs, New York. Mr. Pletcher is past President of the Board of Directors of the Niagara Frontier Center for Independent Living and has served on several other Board of Directors of agencies serving the disability community. He was the 1998 recipient of the Special Achievement Award and the 2002 recipient of the Inspirational Award from the National MS Society. Mr. Pletcher was named to the 2006-2007 “Who’s Who in the Law” by the Buffalo Law Journal for his work in the area of education law.
Mr. Pletcher has been an Adjunct Professor at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York where he has taught a graduate course in Special Education Law. He is a contributor to the legal treatise: Legal Rights of Persons with Disabilities: An Analysis of Federal Law.
