Patrick McNelis

Patrick M. McNelis joined Goldstein, Ackerhalt, and Pletcher, LLP in September 2008.  Since that time he has been involved in all aspects of the firm’s legal practice, with particular emphasis in the areas of special education, general education, estate planning, probate and administration of estates, trust planning and administration, guardianships, and not-for-profit law.  He has been invited to speak to various parent groups on issues relating to education, estate planning, and guardianship, including parents of children with autism, and parent groups associated with the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Patrick graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Law in June 2007, and was admitted to practice in New York in February 2008.  Prior to UB, Patrick graduated cum laude from SUNY Geneseo in 2004, with a dual degree in American Studies and English.  He gets invited back to Geneseo on occasion to speak to current students regarding leadership and life after college.

Patrick contributes to the legal treatise Legal Rights of Persons with Disabilities: An Analysis of Federal Law (along with its companion Educating Students with Disabilities: An Analysis of Federal Law).  He is also a member of the Bar Association of Erie County.
